The #Verzuz battles or listening sessions as I like to call them are just what the culture needs. Erykah and Jill’s battle garnered over 1 billion impressions and over 700, 000 thousand viewers tuned in for the epic moment. Merchandise is available for sale at Erykah’s baduwoldmarket.com. The vibe was that of black love, black power, black excellence, and the pinnacle of creativity. Each artist gave us back stories on songs and praised fellow artists, musicians and producers  that helped them cultivate their sounds and greatest hits.

The unintended but well received message is that we must protect and hold our soul music artist in the highest regards because they are so deserving. Both Erykah and Jill’s music has healed us and at present  continues to help us through some perilous times in this country.

Ludacris and Nelly’s #Verzuz battle was truly a rappers delight. Listen, they took it all the way back and had some of us  twerking, popping, dropping and locking. The respect amongst both artists was commendable . Ludacris really has the patience of Job, as Nelly was experiencing  significant wifi difficulties. Many wondered if he was using dial up..I kid ..I kid.. You know Black Twitter was gonna tell it anyways.  Black Twitter is really like that extended black family. They will clown you and show you love all at the same dam time! Hopefully we get some concerts once that ole nasty Rona settles down. Over 400,000 thousand viewers tuned and in. I’m sure those fans would be ready and willing to show both artist that love live and in person.

Boosie, Boosie, Boosie. The outspoken and never to back down rapper is in hot water and on trial in the court of public opinion. The rapper faced outrage after footage surfaced of him admitting that he has allowed women to perform sexual acts on his nephews and sons.

“I’m training these boys right,”  The rapper went on to state, “Ask any of my nephews, ask any of them, as my son. Yeah,. When they was 12, 13 they got head. Yeah, that’s how it’s supposed to be. Hell yeah I got my f@#kin’ son d*&k sucked. You f @#kin right.”  Yeah you can’t make this stuff up.

Dysfunction  looks like this! It was molestation and statutory rape! Period!  That’s not how you “make them a man.”

Why are adults so eager to steal the innocence of children?  They can never get that back. For it to be at the hands of their own parent is even more bothersome. Those children have been given an unhealthy foundation as it relates to women and sex,  and that monster will only grow. They will have their dad and uncle to thank for that!

Our forever and competent President, Barack Obama delivered  the commencement speech to  several thousand graduates virtually. From the comments on social media, it was a timely and a well needed message.  I mean who else could have pulled that off? Definitley not the incompetent trash that occupies the white house at this present time.

The class of 2020 has endured so much . Hopefully their next chapter in life brings them joy and ample moments of celebration.
