Michele Rayner Makes History as the First Black Queer Woman Elected to Represent District 70 in the Florida House.

Civil Rights Attorney, Michele Rayner declares victory in the Florida House race for District 70. With tears flowing, she gave a resounding and moving acceptance speech at the Carter G. Woodson Museum in the presence of her many supporters. This win is truly one for the history books.

In a crowded field, Rayner emerged victorious by earning 31% percent of the vote with 100% of the precincts reporting. Rayner faced off against Keisha Bell, Michelle Grimsely, and Mark Oliver. The peoples champion is headed to Tallahassee.

Rene Flowers – Pinellas County Commissioner District 7

Rene Flowers has earned a resounding victory in her race for Pinellas County Commissioner – District 7. Flowers earned 51% of the vote with 100% of the precincts reporting. Rene faced off against political giants , Wengay Newton and Frank Peterman. She will now face Maria Scruggs who is running as NPA and Anthony Hart – write in candidate in this Novembers election.

Caprice Edmond – Pinellas County School Board District 7

Congratulations to Caprice Edmond on moving forward into the primaries by earning 24% of the vote with 100% of the precincts reporting. She will face career politician Karl Nurse in November. Hopefully the black vote will be consolidated and put her over the top.

Sky U. White – Hillsborough County Commissioner – District 3

Congratulations to Registered Nurse, Sky U, White on a hard fought race. Sky earned 21% of the vote with 100% of precincts reporting. However it was not enough to issue a sounding defeat. Hopefully this is not the last we will hear of her.

Ashley Ward-Singelton – 6th Circuit Judge

Congratulations to Attorney, Ashley Ward-Singelton, she ran a great race and earned 46.4% of the vote with 100% of the precincts reporting. Although not enough to walk away with a win.
