Insecure Episode 2 – Lawrence Ain’t Worth 2 Pennies

Insecure Episode 2 – Lawrence Ain’t Worth 2 Pennies

>>spoiler alert<<

You know what, I felt a little sorry for Lawrence (Jay Ellis) initially when Issa (Issa Dee) cheated. He had every right to be all up in his lil feelings. I get that. I even understood him getting with Tasha(Dominique Perry)  on the rebound. He had some pent-up aggression and needed to release it.

Fast forward to the new season, Lawrence and Tasha are an item. I’m sorry, but if you’re  staying overnight, sexing her on the regular and she’s cooking for you and offering up invites to family functions – ya’ll go together. So, Lawrence all up in his feelings decides to sleep with Issa while picking up his mail. Meanwhile he’s still smashing Tasha.  It’s only because he’s riddled with guilt that he tells Tasha about the slip up with Issa.

Then the ninja had the nerve to circle back round after Tasha kicked him out.  After looking all pitiful, she eventually took him back.   Yup! Now, its mighty funny how he wanted to be forgiven and continue in a relationship with Tasha, but wouldn’t  give Issa another chance. #TeamIssa

What a freaking double standard. Men often seek forgiveness for their indiscretions. However, if the woman steps out, she’s  put through pure hell and has to constantly reassure her mate that it won’t happen again. I say move on Issa.  He’s just using  Tasha for a place to stay anyway.  They aint even a real couple, they just roommates;  Tasha just don’t know it yet. It’s just a matter of time before he falls into his underachieving ways that led to the breakdown of the relationship in first place.

The feeling of not wanting to move on because you’re  thinking you and your boo may get back together is all to common as well. I’m glad Issa has a good support system-sort of. Obsessing over the new chick is not healthy and only leads to frustration. One thing I don’t like is when people in your crew have the deets on the other chick  and don’t share them right away.   That’s a major violation of the girl code.   I’m just saying.

One more thing for the corporate hustlers;  you will never fit into the good ole’ boy network, so stop trying. Find your own lane and ride the heck out of it. Hopefully Molly (Yvonne Orji) gets this memo.  I have hope that Issa will get it together with or without Lawrence ole house hopping arse.  Looking forward to episode three. Insecure needs to be an hour long. The previews barely get a sister through to the next episode. IJS.
