Dieticians agree that juicing and smoothies should not replace the actual consumption of fresh whole fruits and vegetables. The body benefits from the fiber and other nutrients that are sometimes lost or minimized during the juicing process.

In addition to eating and drinking your essentials vitamins and minerals, drinking water and getting adequate sleep both help to strengthen ones immune system. According to the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicinet an adequate daily fluid intake is:
About 15.5 cups (3.7 liters) of fluids for men
About 11.5 cups (2.7 liters) of fluids a day for women

Furthermore, “these recommendations cover fluids from water, other beverages and food. About 20 percent of daily fluid intake usually comes from food and the rest from drinks.” According to the Mayo Clinic, water helps to carry oxygen to your body cells, which results in properly functioning systems. It also works in removing toxins from the body, so drinking more of it could help prevent toxins from building up and having a negative impact on your immune system.

Adults should strive for 7 to 9 hours of sleep. Be kind to your body and put it in the best position to keep you healthy.
