The books are officially closed on another Focused and Fearless Brunch. Thank you to everyone that supported the event. Whether you purchased a ticket, shared it on your page or simply told someone about it, Thank you! I would also like to thank the phenomenal guest authors, Dr. Carleah East, Stephanie A. Wynn, Lisa McClendon, and Monica Rhodes. The staff at the Birchwood were amazing. Their service was A1. The food was fresh and delicious.
I left inspired and understanding just how important it is to share your story. Never allow anyone to dim your light because it is needed. Be mindful of how you treat yourself, because in doing so you are teaching others how to treat you. Learn from your mistakes and poor decisions. Allow them to be the building blocks of a better you. Starting over may be scary, but it is okay.
Being surrounded by so many women willing to be transparent about their journey in life drove home the importance of not giving up while you in the mist of a storm. They were all shining examples of what happens when you come out on the other side of the storm victoriously.
Towards the end of the brunch, each woman was asked to share why they refuse to give up! The responses were both moving and powerful. They spoke with great compassion and conviction. Congratulations to Jessica Gosselin, winner of the Moms on the Move Scholarship. Jessica is a nursing student at St. Petersburg College, currently maintaining a 3.9 gpa. We are proud of you!
Hopefully you will join us for next years brunch.
