Will You Watch? “Breaking In” Starring Gabrielle Union

Well, well, well, looks like another action thriller with a black female lead and I’m loving it.  2018 Is starting off just right if you ask me.  Honey, Gabrielle Union goes into full “momma bear” mode in “Breaking In”,  directed by James McTeigue and produced by Will  Packer. The film is set to be released on Mother’s Day. I would go with my momma, but she is the type that will ask you questions through out the entire movie as if you have seen it before. I still love her though….

Mental Health First Aid

Earlier in the week I had a chance to attend the Mental Health First Aid USA Training. It was very informative and covered in great detail, the importance of developing an action plan for developing mental health problems. As I read through the content, there was one stat that stood out to me – ” In 2013, Suicide was the second leading cause of death among 15 -to-24 year olds and 25-to-34-year olds” and that ” In 2010, approximately 84 percent of people who completed suicide had symptoms of mental…

I was casually strolling along my Twitter feed when I noticed the #BuiltxWomen. Uterine Fibroids: Don’t Suffer in Silence

There are very few things in life I truly hate and Uterine Fibroids is one of them.  According to the Women’s Health.Gov, Uterine Fibroids are muscular tumors that grow in the wall of the uterus. Most often they are (benign) not cancerous. Furthermore, they can grow as a singular tumor or multiple tumors; they can also grow outside the walls of the uterus. African-American women are more likely to develop fibroids than white women. According to the National Uterine Fibroids Foundation, over 600,000 hysterectomies are performed annually in the United States….

Oprah Winfrey Puts Many on Notice During her Acceptance Speech for this Years Cecile B. de Mille Award at the 75th Golden Globes

There is something to be said about people that light the room up wherever they go.  During  Sunday nights Golden Globe Award Ceremony, Oprah was that person. Receiving three standing ovations after her very moving acceptance speech for the Cecile B. de Mille Award and she deserved nothing less. The night was monumental because if you follow Oprah, then you know she really steers clear of  any controversy dominating the news cycle.  However, steering clear away from safe, she put several people on notice that night.  Particularly, men that use…

Bruno Mars Finesse (Remix) Featuring Cardi B

The internet is lit all the way up after, Bruno Mars dropped the remix to Finesse featuring Cardi B.  Finesse is one of my favorite cuts on 24k Magic. I must say Bruno out did himself with the video though. The tribute to “In living Color” made a sister smile. I mean, who didn’t want to be a “fly girl” back in the day?  Cardi B’s addition to the cut was perfect and executed flawlessly.  One time for the culture, oww!!! 2 Shares Tweet Share2
